What’s In My Fridge?

I am a snoop. I binge watch those what’s in my bag / room tour / house tour / makeup collection videos on YouTube. Is that weird? I just love to see the products that other people love and how they keep them organized! So why not do my own?! Here’s a look at what I keep stocked in my fridge!

Top Shelf

Here’s where I keep my nuts and seeds. Right now I have shelled hemp seeds (found at T.J. Maxx, I like to add them to muffins, oatmeal and smoothies), Q’ia Chia, Hemp Seed and Buckwheat Cereal, chia seeds, peanuts, ground flax seed (for flax eggs while baking) and raw cashews (bought in bulk at Delallo, my favorite place in the world). I also have parmesan cheese and greek yogurt (remember, I’m not 100% vegan), hummus, leftover pumpkin puree, leftover cooked vermicelli noodles that I add to spring rolls, and my favorite 99 cent pasta sauce from Aldi. It’s so good. In the back there’s some salsa and tomatoes that my aunt canned with produce from my grandparents’ garden. Homemade is the best!

Middle Shelf

The beverage shelf! The water in my neighborhood tastes and smells like it came straight out of a swimming pool, so I buy these large containers to cut down on the amount of plastic that needs to be recycled and just use a refillable water bottle. I also have cider (I mean… it’s fall), unsweetened almond milk (I get mine at Aldi), eggs and beer. I’m a Pennsylvania girl, so it has to be Yuengling!

Bottom Shelf

I keep a constant cycle of fruits and veggies here. Right now I have baby kale (I’m planning to make these kale chips from Mind Over Munch), mixed greens, leftover black beans, apples, lemons, broccoli, carrots, zucchini, beets, and chives and parsley from my mom’s herb garden.

I don’t keep anything in the drawers because I’ve found that if I can’t see it, I won’t eat it. Then I forget that I have anything down there and end up wasting massive amounts of food. Not okay!

The Door

Up top I keep Earth Balance Buttery Spread (I prefer soy free) and a little bit of real butter. Then these Bark Thins I found at Target – they’re pretty good! I always have a variety of mustards and sauces, too. Right now I have sweet mustard, dijon, and yellow mustard and barbecue sauce, teriyaki sauce and sriracha. I use Dr. Bragg’s liquid aminos and nutritional yeast. I also always have peanut butter. Always. I live off the stuff. I switch between brands but my favorite is Giant Eagle organic. Right now I have almond butter, too – I made it myself! It’s so easy; just throw almonds in your food processor and let it whirl for 15-ish minutes. On the bottom shelf I keep my water bottle, plus some pickles my aunt made and Trader Joe’s sauerkraut. It’s not very good. Don’t buy it. I don’t know why I even keep it around.

  2. LOVE this post. I am most definitely in agreement with you on the snooping business. I absolutely love delving into people’s lives & seeing how they do little bits and pieces. Love your fridge tour! I’ve never seen a blogging concept like this, so it was a really interesting read :)

  3. I have the same fridge, it is nowhere near as organized as this. I have way more stuff shoved in very haphazardly, filled to the brim veggie and fruit drawers and definitely not much of a system. I am envious of your fridge.

  4. I love this! When I went to school to become a Holistic Health Coach, this was one of the early challenges to new students. Take a picture of your fridge and let us know what you eat. Food tells us so much about a person. Cheers!
