Okay, so it’s really just a vegan chili recipe that Sara and I threw together while in PA. But I mean, we made it FOR the Season 5 premiere of Walking Dead… and we started being real gross about the ingredients [no judgement zone]… so there you have it. Walking Dead Chili. AKA Bean Chili.

This is a crockpot meal, which makes everything more exciting. Crockpot meals are the easiest, warmest, and best!! We left it sitting for a couple hours while we re-watched Season 4. So while you wait for tonight’s episode, might as well throw it on and relax until then!
You will need:
- 1 can black beans (zombie guts)
- 1 can kidney beans (kidneys, duh)
- 1 can chickpeas (more guts)
- 1 can diced tomatoes (more zombie guts and brains, obviously)
- 1 can yellow corn
- 1 can tomato paste
- 2 cups water
- 1 green pepper, diced
- 1 large onion, diced (ligaments… yup)
- 3 cloves garlic, diced
- Olive oil
- 2 tbs chili powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Step 1: Toss the first seven ingredients into your crock pot. I turned it on at this point, and let it warm up.
Step 2: Sauté onion, pepper, and garlic in a sauce pain with some olive oil. Once cooked up a bit, add to the crock pot. This is also where you will add all your seasonings.
