Cacao Coffee Drink

Wake Me Up Cacao Mixer

I’ve never been a huge coffee drinker. I do love love love myself a good soy latte, but I’m pretty picky, so I probably have one maybe… twice a month? Not a fan of Dunkin [sorry, guys!] but I will occasionally grab an iced coffee from local shops with the good stuff. The only time I really start to crave an iced coffee is when the weather around here warms up! Another exception? Some mornings you just need that extra kick. Especially on rainy Fridays when you are just praaaaaying for that weekend. Enter: the cacao mixer.

I want to add cacao to everything, just FYI. It’s my favorite “superfood” because hello, it’s chocolate and it’s so so good for you. Just a few of the perks:

  • Vitamins: B1, B2, B3, B5, B9, E
  • Great source of antioxidants
  • Helps improve digestion
  • Enhances mental well-being
  • Boosts energy
  • Essential minerals and vitamins help support healthy heart functioning
  • CHOCOLATE FOR BREAKFAST

Anyways, onto the drink. Satisfy your sweet tooth and get that caffeine boost all in one.

Recipe

You will need:

  • 1 cup coffee
  • 1-2 tbs cacao powder (or unsweetened dark chocolate, if you don’t have it!)
  • 1/2 cup cashew milk (or your preference)
  • 1 tbs sweetener (I used honey from a friend)
  • Ice

Super easy to make. Just brew coffee as you normally would, and mix in your cacao until it’s smooth. Add your sweetener, then finally add your milk. Put everything in a mason jar and mixmixmix it up! Shake it, baby.

Perfect for on the go – so get to your day, busy lady. xx bianca

NOTE: Yes, I eat honey. You can see a bit more about that here. I only consume honey made from local beekeepers, and I feel comfortable doing so. I hope that doesn’t offend anyone, but I am just being transparent!

  1. Hello there :-)

This recipe sounds super refreshing (yes yes, I love chocolate)! Do you think I can remove the coffee and just make it a chocolate only drink ?

    Thanks!!
