30 Personal Veg & Wellness Q&A

I came across this post from The Local Vegan, and absolutely loved this idea (plus, I LOVED reading her responses!) There are always so many questions that come in, and sometime’s it’s just easier to have it all laid out in one spot.

So I decided to gather my own answers (and swap out a few questions). Here are 30 personal veg & wellness q&a.

Daily Breakfast: water with lemon right when I wake up, followed by avocado toast with tomato, or a larabar if I’m on the go


Daily Supplements: women’s multi and calcium supplement


Reason for Plant Based Life: I’ll stay this way for the animals, first and foremost – it’s always going to be the animals (I refuse to hurt or kill an animal, or have someone else do it for me) followed by health, environment, and overall happier state of living


Fave Workout: running or yoga


Daily Water Intake: I aim for 10 glasses


Favorite Juice Recipe: prickly pear juice [I mean, that color!]


Go-to Smoothie: banana, unsweetened dark cocoa powder, peanut butter, spinach, and soy milk


Simplest Way to Improve Health: stop eating processed foods!


Fave Health (Superfood) Item: cacao + flax


Fave Fruit: mango + strawberries


Fave Vegetable: zucchini + cauliflower


Go-To Website/Blogger: ohdeardrea


Fave Cookbook: thug kitchen + the vegan stoner


Best Health Tip: eat the rainbow


Best Fast Food Option: subway


My Food Philosophy: nourishing your body with real food is a beautiful form of self-love


Food Items I Can’t Live Without: vegetables, fruit + beans


Go-To Lunch: rice, beans, and veggies + lentil stew


Best Tip for New Vegans: it’s not about being perfect, it’s about doing the least harm and the most good – don’t worry about failing, just move on!


My Current Mantra: “Be kind.”


Ingredient I Tend to Avoid: nutritional yeast + seaweed – just cannot get into either!


Where I Go For Inspiration: pinterest is the bomb dot com


Current Food Obsession: curry curry curry e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g


Favorite “Pick Me Up”: vanilla soy latte


Favorite quote: world peace begins in the kitchen


At Least Once a Week I Cook: batch of a grain [barley or brown rice usually] + large pot of vegetable and lentil soup + baked tofu


Best Restaurant Tip: always call ahead to make sure they can accommodate you. if there is no time for that, ask about veggies!


Favorite Recipe: ever? this question isn’t fair. but currently: crispy potato red lentil dal from in my bowl


Fave Place to Grocery Shop: trader joe’s fo-ev-er & whole foods once in a while


My Health Passion: to be living proof that animal products are not necessary to live a happy, healthy, delicious, and fulfilling life.

  1. Daily Supplements: Nature’s Aid multi mineral & vitamin supplement only taken occasionally

    Reason for Vegan: Everything about it follows my views on doing the least harm for animals, the environment and people.

    Fave Workout: Yoga

    Daily Water Intake: I struggle to drink enough but aim for 2 litres and hope!

    Favorite Juice Recipe: Mango and lychee!

    Go-to Smoothie: banana, hemp milk, vanilla soya yoghurt, blueberries, oats and chia seeds and occasionally with almond butter for an extra protein hit- yum!

    Simplest Way to Improve Health: Be mindful of what you are eating!

    Fave Health (Superfood) Item: chia seed

    Fave Fruit: blueberries?

    Fave Vegetable: peas and mushrooms

    Go-To Website/Blogger: yours! :D

    Fave Cookbook: Tie between a Girl Called Jack by Jack Monroe as although not vegan the recipes are super easy to veganise and great for people on a budget or Ain Carlin’s Keep it Vegan as it was the 1st vegan book I bought :)

    Best Health Tip: eat the rainbow- I agree with this!

    Best Fast Food Option: Subway I’d say and don’t be afraid to ask for off the menu veganising!

    My Food Philosophy: Healthy food can be delicious!

    Food Items I Can’t Live Without: vegetables and grains

    Go-To Lunch: Vegan pressure cooker risotto

    Best Tip for New Vegans: it’s not about being perfect, it’s about doing the least harm and the most good – don’t worry about failing, just move on and remember you can’t convert everyone! 100% this with my own addition!

    Ingredient I Tend to Avoid: garlic- yuck! Hate the way it gets in your pores even if you add so little you don’t taste it!

    Where I Go For Inspiration: google is my friend :)

    At Least Once a Week I Cook: pressure cooker risotto! :)

    Best Restaurant Tip: always call ahead to make sure they can accommodate you. if there is no time for that, ask about veggies! I agree with this!

    Favorite Recipe: ever? Difficult but as I’ve mentioned it twice I’ll go for the pressure cooker risotto as it’s so cheap, quick and healthy!

    Fave Place to Grocery Shop: I’m from the UK so Tescos online as I can look at ingredients lists at my leisure before I buy!

    My Health Passion: to be living proof that animal products are not necessary to live a happy, healthy, delicious, and fulfilling life. I’d go with this too! :)
