Nesting: Our Nursery Tour

Baby Girl Jungle Nursery Tour

I’m soooo excited to finally be sharing this post! I was really dragging on taking photos (some are not the best quality, but I tried my best with the lighting). But finally, here we are. The room is ready and I’m pretty much losing my mind over seeing her sweet little face. Only a few more weeks!

So… I don’t really know what to call the theme? It’s sort of all the things I love… animals, flowers, bright colors, etc. I guess you could say it is a girly version of a jungle or Lion King theme, maybe? Whatever it is, it is bright, colorful, and airy and just makes me so happy. I find myself just sitting in here and looking around, soaking it up. It’s my favorite room in the house.

I’ll try and share as much detail as to where I got some of the sweet products and decor, too. So without any other introduction, welcome to our nursery!

I guess we’ll start in the crib corner! We went with the Babyletto crib in white/natural wash – I love that modern/sleek look. I decided on decals for behind the crib because I was paranoid about hanging anything over it. I’m absolutely in LOVE with these palm leaves! They are from Etsy (obviously) and were so easy to stick on. Great quality and the colors are vibrant. I can’t say enough good things!

The elephant mobile was one of the very first items we bought (well, my mom actually bought) because colorful elephants are just about everything.

Also pictured about: travel sleep sheep (white noise), boppy pillow, burt’s bees crib sheet, basket from HomeGoods, homemade blankets (from mama and great aunt), faux white rug from HomeGoods, and the sweetest unicorn security blanket from my sweet friend, Kate.

OH, and the cutest cat/big sister ever – Minnie! She’s taken quite a liking to the room, too… especially the blanket basket.

Moving over is the rocking chair corner (a crappy photo due to lighting, sorry!) The rocker is from IKEA and I chose it because it’s a fairly small room… and this fit pretty good without looking bulky. It’s comfortable, too. The footrest is also from IKEA.

I found these curtains and couldn’t believe when I found the pillow at HomeGoods… they seemed to be a match made!

Also pictured above is a crescent moon hanging from one of my favorite local spots, the Fantastic Umbrella Factory. Basket from HomeGoods, as well as the plants in the hangers. Oh, those rope hangers (you’ll see more below) are probably one of my favorite pieces in the room. Loved bringing in some greenery without it being on a shelf.

Changing table area! Though this changing table took close to 3 hours to assemble (husband and myself – oof), I am so happy with it. I love that the changing pad holder can be removed so it can grow with her. What really sold me on it is the section next to the pad because it holds all the necessities.

A couple items from the photos above: wipeable changing pad cover from Target, Jellycat stuffed pig (!!!) from my friend Heidi, mandala hamper from HomeGoods (loved this so much), sun mirror from Christmas Tree Shops.

Across the way from the crib is a small cubby bookshelf that I grabbed from IKEA (and also the baskets). Holding all her books and toys, I think this is going to grow with her for sure.

Also pictured: humidifier, elephant projector + white noise machine, tall lamp from IKEA, Jellycat bunny, and my all-time favorite children’s book – Where the Wild Things Are. I bought this book for her and wrote a little note in it. I can’t wait until she is old enough to appreciate it.

Just a closer look at some of the wall art in her room. These were the first things I bought – I knew exactly where this room was going from the start! Our wild friends are from the Animal Print Shop. I had my eye on this company way before I was pregnant, and knew they would be a part of the space someday. There are so many awesome prints, so I encourage you to check them out!

“Do you suppose she’s a wildflower?” is a quote from one of my favorite Disney movies, Alice in Wonderland. Lucky for me, my favorite artist – Katie Daisy – has this print in her shop. I can’t even tell you how much I love this print.

She just loves it in here. Also loves this rug.

And lastly below, just wanted to share a sneak peak into the closet. I tried to make the most of the small closet space with bins, shoe storage racks, etc. I feel pretty good about it!

So that’s that! I’m really happy with how it turned out… it wasn’t too far off from my initial mood board. I hope you appreciate the tour! Glad it is done, and now all we need is her to make it 37894537895 x’s sweeter. We’re ready for you, my love. xx bianca

  1. this is A+ nesting. your nursery is more complete than mine, and my baby is 8 months old! haha.

so many sweet details and love how colorful it is without being too loud. and i’m going to need one of those jellycat pigs.

lastly, our cats think the nursery is their room. one of them even sleeps in the crib (when the baby isn’t in it).

    1. Thank you so much, Vanessa!! The Jellycat pig might be my favorite part of the room – honestly! And I just LOL’ed about your cats. That’s the best – Minnie basically claims all of the baby’s things as her own, too. It’s entertaining, right? Haha! xx

  2. Wow, you have created the perfect space with a lovely clean vintage feel. How lucky your little one will be to wake up in that room!

    1. Thank you so much, Johanne! xx
