Winter Baby Essentials 2018

Winter Baby Essentials 2018

Living in New England, our winters are bone-chilling. This winter in particular has been much colder than recent years, and we’ve already had way more snow than last year. Willow and I have been staying indoors to keep cozy for the most part, but it’s nice to get out every once in a while. No one wants to go stir crazy, right?

Indoors or out, there are a ton of winter baby products that I’ve embraced to keep baby girl warm, snug, and comfortable. Here are some of my favorites for this cold and snowy season.

Fleece zip-up sleepers. The Carters’ fleece zip-up sleepers are my favorite. They are so snuggly and warm. Plus, the zipper is way easier than snaps. Willow basically lives in these right now!

Fleece sleepsack. Since we are not swaddling any longer, I love these fleece sleepsacks by Halo (Carters also has great ones). I usually put her in a short-sleeve white onesie, fleece sleeper, and then the fleece sleepsack. It isn’t too hot (we keep our home temp at around 68-70 degrees) and she sleeps great. If your winters are not as cold, you may want to consider a cotton sleepsack.

Moisturizer. We love this all-over moisturizer by Shea Moisture. I lather her up before bed every night. It smells soooo good!

Face ointment. Willow’s face gets pretty dry/chapped, especially since she is drooling more than ever. Find a multipurpose ointment that you like – perfect for those kissable cheeks.

Thick socks. I always keep a pair of thick socks on underneath her footed pajamas. No one likes cold toes.

White onesies. I always stock up on a package of short-sleeve white onesies. I think it is especially important lately, since it adds a layer of warmth, but also another barrier against drool. She’s drooling so much lately, and this helps it from soaking through her onesies and onto her skin.

Hooded jacket. If you do go out, it’s good to have a hooded jacket/sweater. My favorite one is by Carters, because hello… bear ears.

Warm hat.
Willow has so many hats, especially because my mom is always knitting a new one for her. But to be honest, I am just obsessed with this deer hat that I purchased. SHE LOOKS SO SWEET.

Humidifier. We run this almost every night because the air is so dry. I have no complaints with this brand.

NoseFrida snot sucker. I swore to myself I wasn’t going to buy this, and then the minute she got a stuffy nose, I ordered immediately. This thing is the real deal. And no, it is not gross. The snot gets nowhere NEAR the tube. There is a filter, too! Just do it. Also while you are at it, grab the saline spray. It is a lifesaver for stuffy winter noses.

Car seat cover. I love this one because it is breathable, easy to use, and barely takes up space in my bag. Great against wind, snow, rain, etc.

Warm blanket. A warm and fuzzy blanket is a must-have. Actually, grab a few. I use them for tummy time, nap time (only while I am right next to her), and over her carseat when we venture out. TJ Maxx and Marshalls always have the best deals on baby blankets.

Fleece bodysuit. This hooded pram is so warm and so soft. And who wouldn’t want their baby to resemble a polar bear cub? Haha!

What are some of your must-haves for winter babies? xx bianca
