Changing Table Organization

Changing Table Organization

One of my very favorite things to do while nesting was baby laundry and organizing her dresser. Loving the laundry sounds crazy now, but it was really fun while we waited for her arrival! My mother-in-law was very generous to gift us this changing table. Aside from taking almost 3 hours to complete (that’s always fun), we really love it. It has just the right amount of storage space and doesn’t take up a lot of room in her small room. I also love that it will grow with her – the changing table portion comes off easily and will become her dresser.

I love watching/reading others’ posts and organization videos, so I wanted to share how we organized this one. I’m sure this is going to continue to change as she grows, but you get the idea. Here’s a look at how we’ve been functioning – right from the start!

One of my favorite features of this dresser was the space on the side of the changing pad. I wanted all the necessities within arms reach without having to fumble through drawers. I have diapers (a little low in this photo), wipes, diaper rash cream, burp cloths, sanitizer, and lotion. Also a couple rattles for entertainment – both from Land of Nod.

Also side note, I love the changing pad cover we got from Target. It’s by Circo and it is wipeable (cuts down on the number of times I need to actually launder it!) That alone is invaluable.

Middle Drawer

Left to right: 3-month long-sleeve onesies, 3-month pants, white onesies, and all newborn sleepers.

Bottom Drawer

This drawer is a bit of a miscellaneous mess, haha! Left to right: both my my carriers are here (the Ergobaby Carrier and Baby K’tan. Then there’s a box of teethers, pacifiers/pacifier clips, diaper covers, medical/health/safety gear, and her hair accessories.

Side Door

The side door is awesome – two of the drawers slide out, so I grabbed two baskets to fit from a local HomeGoods. Filled them with extra diapers on the top, extra wipes in the middle, and the bottom is a mix of whatever else I need. Hand sanitizer, extra diaper rash cream, tissue packs, bags for dirty diapers, etc.

This system has been working for us from the get-go. I’ve been swapping out clothes as she grows and moving things up and around to accommodate, but other than that… it’s easy to keep up with.

I hope this is helpful or gives some inspiration if you are organizing for your own little one. Would love to hear any tips or tricks you may have, too. Share your experiences below. xx bianca
