Hi friends — this week has been mentally draining. While I love my job, it is definitely an atmosphere that takes a lot out of you (hard deadlines, approvals, you know). As someone who already suffers from anxiety, I have definitely been challenged with learning how to manage my stress better and how to disconnect once I step out of the building and into my home.
My sister (hi Tianna!) recommended that I order an aromatherapy essential oil diffuser. And that’s what I did… and it’s become my favorite thing in the world. Let me tell you about it.
hi there pretty people :)
I think I’ll ramble about money today. Between finishing our basement, caring for the yard, and you know, wedding planning… we’ve been living on a tight budget. We both do very well for ourselves, but we’re still both pretty frugal when it comes to spending. I’ve always been a saver, and I have my parents to thank for that – they taught me well very early on and it has (literally) paid off.
So it seems like all we do is dish out money here and there these days, but I’m happy to say that the savings keep on growing, and we live a very full and happy life. We are not rich by any means, but figuratively… I’d say so. We’re so lucky to have what we have and be able to do the things we do. Blessed blessed blessed. How do we do it? There’s no magic formula and I am certainly not an expert, but I wanted to share some of our habits and tips. Who knows, they may inspire you to make subtle changes that add up. Either way, these are the things that make me feel like we live like a king and queen – no matter how small.
Yeah, I said best. Okay, so they are the best in my eyes, but still… the best. Sara shared a round-up of her favorite cruelty-free cleaning products a few weeks back, and now it’s my turn. Because as she so awesomely pointed out, we are insane. We’re like two 80-year olds who have nothing better to do than wipe down counters and then walk around smelling the damn house as their scents waft through the air.
Yeah, it’s like that for us. Wouldn’t have it any other way!
I’ve done pretty well with kind-ing up my makeup bag and medicine cabinet. I’ve got my favorite Everyday Coconut shampoo, Alba conditioner, and dozens of Burt’s Bees lip balms floating around. But when it came to what was under my kitchen sink, I had a harder time. But I’ve been slowly replacing my harsh, animal-tested cleaning products (I mean I love Windex as much as the next but no animals need to suffer for my windows to be streak-free) with much kinder alternatives. Here are a few of my favorites! Continue reading
My mother is Mrs. Claus. No joke. I can’t tell you what a shit-tastic week this was, but she comes out smiling, and with a tray full of these things:
My first question was “What are those lovely little treasures?” when it should have been “How do you find the time, miracle woman?” Here’s the scoop.
I am a kitchen product junkie. I could spend hours wandering through Williams Sonoma, Sur la Table, and Crate & Barrel. Even the kitchen section of Ikea is like a wonderland. Understandably, I’ve gathered quite a few fun gadgets over the years. Read on to see my faves! Continue reading
I am a snoop. I binge watch those what’s in my bag / room tour / house tour / makeup collection videos on YouTube. Is that weird? I just love to see the products that other people love and how they keep them organized! So why not do my own?! Here’s a look at what I keep stocked in my fridge! Continue reading
