I’ve been trying to be more mindful of what we keep and use in our home. You may have noticed – I have talked about thrifting and re-using in terms of baby clothes a fews times in the past, but that is not all I am up to.
Slowly but surely, I’ve been replacing some items in our home with reusable products – you know, instead of using paper/plastic and tossing out daily. Thought some of you may be interested in hearing some of the ways we save paper and plastic in our home. These are some of my favorite new habits/products.
Hi friends! I’m excited to share another vegan find with you all – I grabbed it about a month ago, but have finally got around to writing this. Well, to be honest… I am writing this a week in advance to make sure I am covered before the big wedding weekend (by now, I’ll be married… EEK!)
I love this bag sooo much, and it is the same brand as the summer bag I posted about a couple months back. Safe to say, I love the brand EMPERIA. It’s durable, soft, and this color in particular really stole my heart the minute I saw it. I think they call it “camel?” I like to call it caramel – this caramel color is my all-time favorite. It’s warm for autumn, and it goes well with everything. Guess how much it costs?
I am super excited to write this post, because you can imagine how excited I was to spot a clearly-marked vegan handbag at Marshalls. I actually could not believe it. A discount store such as Marshalls carrying a vegan handbag is a huge feat, in my opinion. It just goes to show that the market demands more options, and the more people demand, the more people will become aware. It’s a beautiful thing (much like this bag).
hi there, coconuts ;)
Any other people out there obsessed with coconut oil? I grew up in an Italian household, so olive oil was always our oil of choice. Hey, it still is, usually… but I have definitely expanded my palate when I adopted a plant-based lifestyle. I started to experiment with different oils in both cooking and baking. Coconut oil definitely ranks near the top, and I have really learned to embrace its subtle, sweet taste. I think it adds a lot of depth to meals, and also has proved to be amazing as a beauty ingredient, too.
I use coconut oil in a lot of random ways in my life, so I wanted to share a few of my key coconut oil habits (as well as some health benefits). It’s important to shed light on products that you may not necessarily feel compelled to try. If you are not a coconut oil believer, maybe this can change your mind.
If there were one thing my mom was going to drive into my head while growing up, it was to always wash my make-up off before going to bed. No matter how tired I was, or how late, or how little make-up I was wearing (if any!) – WASH. YOUR. FACE.
It’s one of those things that stuck with me all my life, and it is so important to me. I truly believe my skin is as healthy as it is because of this healthy habit that I had drilled into my brain since I was in Jr. High school.
Yeah, I said best. Okay, so they are the best in my eyes, but still… the best. Sara shared a round-up of her favorite cruelty-free cleaning products a few weeks back, and now it’s my turn. Because as she so awesomely pointed out, we are insane. We’re like two 80-year olds who have nothing better to do than wipe down counters and then walk around smelling the damn house as their scents waft through the air.
Yeah, it’s like that for us. Wouldn’t have it any other way!
I’ve done pretty well with kind-ing up my makeup bag and medicine cabinet. I’ve got my favorite Everyday Coconut shampoo, Alba conditioner, and dozens of Burt’s Bees lip balms floating around. But when it came to what was under my kitchen sink, I had a harder time. But I’ve been slowly replacing my harsh, animal-tested cleaning products (I mean I love Windex as much as the next but no animals need to suffer for my windows to be streak-free) with much kinder alternatives. Here are a few of my favorites! Continue reading
You mean we’re *not done* buying shit for our kids yet? The holidays are over, but your little ones were still..you know..born and stuff.
Here – have some inspiration. Just right for celebrating a birthday. Or begrudgingly bestowing gifts upon your uncle’s neighbor’s stepdaughter’s wretched little grandkid. He might grow up to do some serious damage. But these eco-friendly prezzies never harm a thing. Continue reading
