I’ve been asked about my favorite cruelty-free products and to be honest, I never had anything I really swore by. I hopped around a lot before finding which products worked best for me. I’m happy to say that I finally feel good and confident in what I am using. I thought I’d share with you today.
Entering my 30’s, I knew I wanted to solid routine and to invest a bit more in my skin care products. My mom raised me to always take my make-up off and wash my face before bed (thanks, MOM!!) So my habits have always been solid, but I flip-flipped on products because I didn’t want to dish out a whole lot. I still try to keep it within budget and minimal (as you’ll see, I use a blend of budget-friendly and a higher end).
For reference, I have combination skin. What works for me may not work for you because really, skin care is so personal. But here we go. x
Face wash: I like to choose a face wash with Vitamin C for a brightened complexion. Avalon Organics (affiliate link) is budget-friendly and has worked beautifully for me for years.
Budget-friendly moisturizer: I am a big fan of Pacifica products and their day/night moisturizer is at a great price point. It is lightweight and has a subtle scent (I don’t like anything overwhelming fragrance). I use this in the mornings.
Higher-end moisturizer: I’ve recently started using OSEA Atmosphere Protection Cream and it has been great. Light-weight, hydrating, and keeps my skin so smooth. It’s been a real lifesaver this winter because my skin gets very dry during this time of year. I waited a long time to pull the trigger on OSEA but I have always heard overwhelming positive things. I consider the price-point a bit more indulgent and expensive for myself, so I only use this one at night before bed (it lasts much longer using it once a day vs. twice). My only complaint with this is I wish it were in a jar so I could use every last drop… pumps are tough with that. I did like that the company included the choice of 3 samples in my order.
Retinol cream: This is the first year I have started using a nightly retinoid – hooray for a vegan brand! I have been using this Glossier Universal Pro-Retinol 1-2 times a week.
Make-up remover: I like to use good ‘ol coconut oil to take off my eye make-up. It’s inexpensive and lasts just about forever.
