Putting together a stocking for Willow this year has been a highlight. I was more excited about this than buying toys for under the tree, to be honest. There’s just something to magical about opening up your stocking on Christmas morning!
There isn’t too much, because I am trying not to overload her. This kid has a ZILLION toys from friends, family, etc. I am trying my best to keep it to a minimum. I actually did most of my gift shopping at our local thrift store (SO MANY GOOD FINDS).
If you’re not sure what to put in your toddler’s stocking this year, I hope that this helps. Maybe you can pull some ideas and inspiration from it. That’s my hope, anyway. It doesn’t have to be expensive to fill up a stocking, either! I’ll definitely be hitting my local Dollar Store to find some fillers.
But here are some of my favorite pieces from her stocking this year.
Flash cards. I won’t lie, I was pretty excited about these flashcards because they were inexpensive and I think it is never too early for an education. I think these will be fun for her and I!
Small Board Book. Lots of books in this house because books are my favorite. Thankfully, they are hers, too. Found this Lion King/Disney friends one at a local thrift shop for $1!
Snacks. Mum-mums, Puffs, freeze-dried strawberry slices, animal crackers, fig bars, and Coconut Creamies. Just a little treat as filler – she loves all of these snacks. Some aren’t pictured because I haven’t grabbed them yet.
Tsum tsum. She loves the tsum tsum shorts on Disney Junior, so we’ve started a little collection for her. This time around, she got Donald Duck!
Reusable snack bags. Love these so much! So many fun characters and patterns to choose from and they are great for keeping snacks in tow. Willow is crazy obsessed with all things Lion King (you can probably sense a theme by now).
Fork and spoon. Disney Princesses because… cute.
Water-reveal activity pad. No mess and I have a good feeling she is going to be in awe over it. Love that it is reusable, too. Melissa & Doug products are amazing. The theme is as close to Lion King as I could get, haha!
Mickey Mouse ears. Sparkly and cute. I grabbed these at a children’s thrift shop, too. They were $1 so I had to.
Mittens. She was desperately needing a pair that has the string to keep them in place. These are perfect and very warm.
The above is what I have for her stocking so far, but there are so many other ideas (especially for when she is on the older end of toddlerhood). I may use the below in years to come. Maybe you will, too!
- New toothbrush
- Play-Doh (can’t wait for her to be of age)
- Beeswax crayons
- Bath toys
- Bath markers/crayons
- Stickers
- Coloring books
- Magnetic drawing board
- Finger paints
- Cat ears headband
- Toy cars
- Non-skid slippers
- Water bottle
- Hair ties
