The dog villagers are in abundance but who are the very best? This was a really tough one to rank because they are all so cute but let’s give it a go. There are 17 all together!

#17: Marcel
Marcel gives me the creeps. If you are into the mime look for the gimmick of it, then he’s perfect for you. Or maybe you like a villager who feels French, which is also what he does best. #16: Frett
I guess if I wanted a cranky dog villager, I would choose Butch 100 times over. Frett feels a little boring. A few fun facts: he has a cranky personality, his favorite colors are gray and brown, his catchphrase is “goshers,” and he has the music hobby.
#15: Walker
Walker is pretty bland and forgettable for me I think he looks generic and overall… kinda boring. Sorry if you love him! A few fun facts: he has a lazy personality, his favorite colors are red and orange, his catchphrase is “wuh,” and he has the play hobby.
#14: Mac
If you love bulldogs, this is the villager for you. Mac has nice coloring! His face isn’t my favorite but I can see the appeal. A few fun facts: he has a jock personality, his favorite colors are red and black, his catchphrase is “woo woof,” and he has the fitness hobby.
#13: Biskit
Players love Biskit so much. I think he is a real fan favorite, so I may get crap for his low ranking but he isn’t my style. Not to say he isn’t cool. Just a meh villager to me. If you have a colorful or space-themed island, he would work great. #12: Portia
The only dalmatian villager in the game, Portia just looks high-class and snooty. She isn’t my favorite of all the female dogs, but still not an awful choice if you have a soft spot for this breed. A few fun facts: she has a snooty personality, her favorite colors are black and purple, her catchphrase is “ruffian,” and she has the fashion hobby.
#11: Benjamin
Benjamin is a real cutie. I love his buttery yellow coat and the expression on his face. He looks like he is a little down in the dumps and I want to cheer him up with snacks. #10: Cherry
If you are looking for an edgy villager to shake things up, Cherry is a hot ticket. Always appreciate a no-BS sisterly villager. A few fun facts: she has a sisterly personality, her favorite colors are black and purple, her catchphrase is “what what,” and she has the music hobby.
#9: Butch
Butch is such a cool cranky. I just feel like he is such a mood and I am here for it. A few fun facts: he has a cranky personality, his favorite colors are blue and gray, his catchphrase is “ROOOOOWF,” and he has the music hobby.
#8: Maddie
Maddie is such a pretty villager! I love her soft and warm coloring and she looks precious when she runs around with her arms out. A few fun facts: she has a peppy personality, her favorite colors are pink and purple, her catchphrase is “yippee,” and she has the play hobby.
#7: Lucky

#6: Cookie

#5: Shep
I love a good smug villagers and Shep is one of the best. His shaggy bangs are precious and love when we get a peek at his eyes during dialogue and reactions. #4: Bones
Bones is a baby and old soul all wrapped up in one and he is absolutely a classic for a reason. Beautiful design and the lazy dialogue is very cheeky. I always appreciate talking to lazy villagers. #3: Goldie
Goldie is an icon, really. The happiest yellow dog in the neighborhood and she deserves the world. She brings a lot of joy to my island. Plus, she is my favorite color. #2: Daisy
Daisy and her beautiful cream coat and coloring. She reminds me of a shy sweetie and I love that about her. Plus, it makes me irrationally happy when she has her glasses on and reads. #1: Bea
Bea! Bea Bea Bea. She is my favorite villager in the entire franchise (right next to Molly). She has the sweetest disposition, precious freckles, beautiful coloring (I always lean towards brown/beige/natural villagers). She is a 1000/10 and she will always have my heart.
