The 12 Toppings
Now onto the best part – decorating!
Lemon Lavender
You need:
- 1 vanilla donut
- 1/4 cup confectioners sugar
- 1 drop water (seriously… just a drop. If you need more, add as you go. Too much will make it soupy!)
- 1 drop lemon extract (to taste… it is strong!)
- 1 drop lavender syrup (I use Monin)
- Yellow sugar crystals
- Purple sprinkles
Add first four ingredients and mix. If your mix is too soupy, just add more sugar (this goes for all topping recipes). Decorate however you would like, but I chose yellow & purple, of course.
Blueberry Lavender
You need:
- 1 vanilla donut
- 1/4 cup confectioners sugar
- 1 drop water
- 1 drop lavender syrup (I use Monin)
- 1 tbs frozen blueberries, thawed
Thaw the blueberries in your microwave. This will make them tender, and give us that gorgeous purple color. Add to your icing mix and let sit before glazing donut.
Strawberry & Sprinkles
You need:
- 1 vanilla donut
- 1/4 cup confectioners sugar
- 1 drop water
- 2 frozen strawberries, thawed
- Sprinkles
Thaw the strawberries in your microwave. This will make them tender, and give us the pink color. Add to your icing mix, and mash as you go. Let sit before glazing donut. Top with sprinkles! <3
Chocolate Mint
You need:
- 1 vanilla donut
- 1/4 cup Enjoy Life semi-sweet chocolate morsels
- 1 drop mint extract
- Green sugar crystals
- White sprinkles
In microwave, heat the chocolate morsels for 30 seconds. Mix until smooth, and add a drop of mint extract. This extract is so strong – be careful to not add too much! Glaze donut, and top with sugar and sprinkles.
Orange Chocolate
You need:
- 1 chocolate donut
- 1/4 cup Enjoy Life semi-sweet chocolate morsels
- 1 drop orange extract
- Orange sprinkles
In microwave, heat the chocolate morsels for 30 seconds. Mix until smooth, and add a drop of orange extract. AGAIN, extract is strong – be careful to not add too much! Glaze donut, and top with sprinkles.
Very Vanilla
You need:
- 1 vanilla donut
- 1/4 cup confectioners sugar
- 1 drop water
- 1 drop vanilla extract
- White sprinkles
Mix icing together, with a drop of vanilla extract. Top with sprinkles. I chose white, but rainbow would be fun!
Maple Coconut
You need:
- 1 vanilla donut
- 1/4 cup confectioners sugar
- 1 tsp pure maple syrup
- 1 drop water
- Toasted coconut shavings
Mix glaze together and top with coconut.
Dark Chocolate & Sprinkles
You need:
- 1 chocolate donut
- 1/4 cup dark chocolate morsels
- Orange sprinkles
In microwave, heat the dark chocolate morsels for 30 seconds. Mix until smooth. Glaze donut, and top with sprinkles.
Chocolate Peppermint Stick
You need:
- 1 chocolate donut
- 1/4 cup Enjoy Life semi-sweet chocolate morsels
- 1 drop peppermint extract
- Red sugar crystals
- White sprinkles
In microwave, heat the chocolate morsels for 30 seconds. Mix until smooth, and add a drop of peppermint extract. You guessed it… strong flavor, so be careful to not add too much! Glaze donut, and top with sprinkles.
Chocolate Peanut Butter
You need:
- 1 chocolate donut
- 2 tbs peanut butter
In microwave, heat the peanut butter for no more than 30 seconds. Mix until smooth. Simple and decadent.
Chocolate Raspberry & Poppy
You need:
- 1 chocolate donut
- 1/4 cup confectioners sugar
- 1 drop water
- 1 tbs frozen raspberries, thawed
- Poppy seeds
In microwave, thaw frozen raspberries. Mix your icing, and add mashed raspberries until well-combined. Glaze donut and top with a sprinkle of poppy seeds.
Cinnamon
You need:
- 1 chocolate donut
- 1/4 cup confectioners sugar
- 1 drop water
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
Simple & sweet! Just mix and glaze.
I have to say, my absolute favorite was the lemon lavender. Followed by blueberry lavender & orange chocolate. But seriously… they are all amazing! Which one would you like to try? xx Bianca
