Happy Monday, loves :)
We had a super busy weekend (I am EXHAUSTED), but a great one at that. Trying to get back into the swing of things today… and 18 days until the wedding. So… there’s that!
Life aside, I felt like doing some digging into which celebrities are still vegan. I’ve wrote post in the past, HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE about my favorite vegan and vegetarian celebrities, but these lists are dated. Like a normal human being, these people’s lives can change from one day to the next, so they may not always be sticking to a plant-based diet. I mean, a couple years ago I was excited to hear a rumor about Johnny Depp being a vegan, but have since then realized that it may have been pretty short-lived.
Hey, I have respect for anyone who gives it a go! Anyways, you may or may not know that the following celebrities are *supposedly* (still) vegan. I always think it’s interesting to hear who is, and these are some of the sexiest ones around.
Joaquin Phoenix
“We are all animals of this planet. We are all creatures. And nonhuman animals experience pain sensations just like we do. They too are strong, intelligent, industrious, mobile, and evolutional. They too are capable of growth and adaptation. Like us, firsthand foremost, they are earthlings. And like us, they are surviving. Like us they also seek their own comfort rather than discomfort. And like us they express degrees of emotion. In short like us, they are alive.”
Liam Hemsworth
“After the information I gathered about the mistreatment of animals, I couldn’t continue to eat meat.”
Ellen Page
“Why are vegans made fun of while the inhumane factory farming process regards animals and the natural world merely as commodities to be exploited for profit?”
Jessica Chastain
“I don’t normally get into this, but I’m a vegan. And I try not to, well, I don’t want to torture anything. I guess it’s about trying to live a life where I’m not contributing to the cruelty in the world… While I am on this planet, I want everyone I meet to know that I am grateful they are here.”
Alicia Silverstone
“I did it for political, moral reasons, thinking that I was making this great sacrifice, but it was absolutely necessary; I was not going to contribute to the violence in the world anymore.”
Miley Cyrus
“So many good plants/fruits/veggies to eat you ain’t gottttta eat dead animals!”
Jenna Dewan-Tatum
“I remember very clearly the day my mom made chicken fingers. I was like, ‘Wait, this was alive? This had parents? I’m not eating it anymore.'”
Jared Leto
“I’m a vegan. I respect the environment, and I do my best to spread the importance of such an issue.”
Travis Barker
“I’ve been vegan since I got out of the hospital… it’s another eye-opener. It’s changed my life in a number of ways.”
Casey Affleck
“When people ask me why I don’t eat meat or any other animal products, I say, ‘Because they are unhealthy and they are the product of a violent and inhumane industry.”
Sia
Pamela Anderson
“Every time we go by KFC, my kids ask me to honk and they yell ‘Boo’ out the window.”
Ellie Goulding
“I went vegan a few months ago. I feel leaner and healthier.”
Kate Mara
“People always assume if you’re vegetarian you can just live on cheese and meanwhile cheese is awful for your body even if tastes so good. I’m a massive animal lover too. Being vegan has been so good for me. I’ve never felt better.”
Rooney Mara
“By ‘normal,’ do you mean food that has been genetically modified? I try to eat food that hasn’t been washed in ammonia and then packaged in the shape of breaded dinosaurs filled with cheese—even though those are very tasty. I like to eat food that can actually make it through the 20-plus feet of my small intestine.”
Emily Deschanel
“For me, it always has to be about health. That’s why I’m a vegan. Well, I don’t even do that for my health entirely, I do it for animals.”
Ariana Grande
“I am a firm believer in eating a full plant-based, whole food diet that can expand your life length and make you an all-around happier person.”
Also, she says what we are all thinking: “I love animals more than I love most people, not kidding.”
Erykah Badu
“Vegan food is soul food in its truest form. Soul food means to feed the soul. And to me, your soul is your intent. If your intent is pure, you are pure.”
Who are some of your favorite vegan celebrities? Let’s keep this list going! xx bianca
