Hi friends – I wanted to pop on here in a more casual way and just talk about what’s been going on lately.
I have felt a bit distant on social media (posting a little less frequently) but I don’t think it’s a bad thing. I have been making a pretty conscious effort to try to stay off my phone as much as I can during the day. Willow is 20 months now (how?) and she’s a big ball of energy. Plus with the 50-60 degree days lately, it’s been nice to get out of the house, whether going for rides or just sitting outside. It’s nice to have some breathing room from social, I won’t lie! Even though it is my job, technically. We all get a little burnt out.
I’ve always been an anxious person, unfortunately, and I do find that catching up on social media takes a lot out of me and tends to bring out my anxiety more. Not always, but for some reason, lately. I actually even deleted my Facebook app and profile. I didn’t deactivate, because I have the blog page to still manage to post but the personal part of it is cleared. It felt so liberating!! I can’t describe it, but it just felt soooo nice to not mindlessly scroll on another platform.
So if you’ve noticed that I’ve been a little less active, that’s why. I’m sure it change and go back and forth, but I feel like with summer coming, I’ll be soaking up the sun with my girl during the day as much as possible.
Which leads me to… Florida! We finally finally booked our trip to visit my parents in South Florida. I need a good getaway and I think a change of scenery will be nice for Willow, too. We’ll be going down in a couple weeks. You’ll totally know because I am sure my IG feed will improve in vibrancy. I am going to eat my weight in mango, avocado, acai bowls, and tropical everything. But of course, I am not looking forward to the flight with a toddler. LOL. I am already a nervous flyer, so crossing my fingers it goes smoothly. Luckily, my parents are flying back with us so that will be nice to have extra hands. I am sure it’ll be fine… it’s only 3 hours. But any tips or tricks I should know? Send my way via comment section or IG message please!
But 3 hours is nothing compared to the 6 hour flight we have to take in August for my sister’s wedding in California. Now THAT is one flight I am DREEEADING. But we are doing a Disneyland trip before the wedding, so I am going to focus on my energy on that and chalk it all up to WORTH IT. That’s pretty much the only way I’ll survive it. Ha!
And what else? I’ve been wanting to read The Magic of Motherhood. Anyone read it or recommend something similar? I’ve been looking for some inspirational reads on motherhood lately. I have on and off days, and I find that reading and listening to podcasts has helped me to realize that a lot of the anxieties and stresses I find myself feeling lately is normal and will pass. I’ll have to compile some of my favorites on here eventually.
I guess that is about it. I know this is just a long ramble, but I like to do that every once in a while. I hope you guys don’t mind.
I hope you are all enjoying the spring (or whatever season you are currently in!) Talk again soon. xo
