What I’m Loving Lately vol. 2

loving lately

Hello hello!

Back for another loving lately. So many of you let me know that this relaxed writing style is appreciated and I have to agree. It feels nice to just share random bits and pieces of what is making me happy or bringing value to my life. Thank you for being here and reading. <3

Let’s jump right into it. There will be some Amazon affiliate links below.

– I have been living in these summer nightgowns. They are cool, lightweight, and extra comfortable. I pretty much live in them these days.

– Speaking of dresses, this linen-blend dress from Old Navy is so comfortable and flattering and has POCKETS. I bought it in a few different colors/patterns. That’s how much I love it. 👗

– And one more thing on the clothing front: these house slippers. We don’t wear shoes in our home, but I like to have something on my feet. I needed a fresh pair and these are not too warm for summer.

– On the book front, I am in fantasy heaven with the Powerless series by Lauren Roberts. The second installment, Reckless, comes out on July 2 and I am itching to get my hands on it. I am also currently reading a new fantasy series called Spark of the Everflame by Penn Cole and enjoying it so much! I enjoy her writing style… it feels very easy to sink into. I have heard it compared to ACOTAR and I can definitely see why. There are 4 books released in this series, so I think they will be a big part of my summer.

– As for non-fiction, I recently finished The Cottage Fairy Companion by Paola Merrill, which was such a gentle and refreshing read that celebrated and savored the best bits of each season. I’m a big fan of her YouTube channel – it always brings a sense of wonder and calm to my world when I feel overwhelmed. I highly recommend her if you are a highly sensitive person who craves content that is slow and purposeful.

– On the lunch menu these days, my whole family has been loving rainbow summer rolls. My favorite combination is mango and avocado with lots of raw veg. With a spicy peanut dipping sauce, they are to die for and very refreshing for the summer. 🌈

– Breakfasts have been simple this summer. A lot of cold cereal and ripple milk, oatmeal bowls, avocado toast, banana nice cream, breakfast cookies, or Kite Hill Greek yogurt and granola bowls.

– It’s officially u-pick season where we live. Picking our own strawberries and blueberries is one of the highlights of a summer. It’s tradition to always make a dessert when we get home, too. Every year, we swoon for this strawberry shortcake recipe.

– My family has been enjoying nights on the beach when it is not only free, but less crowded, cooler, and generally more enjoyable.

– This summer, I’m reading the Kitty series to my girls. My youngest is a cat lover, so it has been a big hit with her. She is usually not interested in chapter books just yet, but this is one that has captured her attention (and heart), so big win for me! It’s a sweet series and perfect for kids 4-8.

– Another series we are enjoying as a family is not a book, but a TV show. We have been watching Frog and Toad on Apple TV+. We have read the stories over and over and over again. We read at least one every night because we all enjoy it so much. So naturally, we had to give it a watch. The TV series is super cute! And funny! I think it did a great job capturing the charm. We like to watch an episode after dinner together.

– My favorite cold bev in the haze of summer is homemade peach iced tea. I simply add a couple bags to a mason jar and fill with cold water the night before. The next morning, it’s ready to serve over ice. Sometimes I sweeten with honey. So delicious.

– I don’t offer share make-up favorites, but maybe I should? I recently restocked my NYX soft matte lip cream. These last for a while after application and the price is right. I love love them. A few of my favorite shades: Milan, Zurich, Stockholm, Instanbul

– Siggis plant-based coconut yogurt is my new breakfast/snack obsession. It is by far my favorite non-dairy brand. Peach is my favorite.

That wraps it up, friends. I hope you are enjoying your summer thus far and finding pockets of peace in your days. I have deleted the IG app on and off and it definitely brings more peace and mindfulness to mine. I am constantly wanting to be there and sharing while also desiring to be more present IRL. It is always a balancing game, but the time away, even a few days, does wonders for my mood. So if you follow me there and noticed, that’s why it’s been quieter. x
