Hello hello!
As summer winds down, I’ve been trying to get into a good rhythm between caring for my home, getting out with the kids for last minute summer fun, and working. Reaching a balance feels impossible some weeks but I do love this in-between transition stage in August, torn between savoring and anticipating. Aside from getting out as much as we can, I’ve also been de-cluttering/re-organizing a few closets and spaces in our home and it always feels really good. This and a few home upgrades has me feeling totally re-energized. This week I am tackling pantry organization and donating/shopping/organizing the kids closets for the next season (one of my favorite things to do, to be honest!)
Aside from that, here are a few things that have been going on lately as well as the stuff making me happy.

~ We painted our front door a beautiful sage green color. I have been wanting to tackle this project for a while to give our home a more welcoming and cottage feel. We went with Rookwood Jade by Sherwin-Williams and I am in LOVE.
~ Another small project we completed around here is making me a home office corner in our living room. I feel so happy to work from this space now!! In particular, I love the little additions I added to make it my own – a few plants, books, this rug, and these dreamy comfort items. I don’t have a photo of the area yet but I will try to share on my IG soon (still waiting to hang up some wall art!)
~ Speaking of cozy desk spaces, I really want this clickety-clackety keyboard in the worst way. My husband works in IT and urged me to go with a tried and true brand (so we went with this one) and I get it… it will last. But maybe someday I will treat myself to the one that gives all the ASMR vibessss!!
~ I wrote this post about savoring the end of summer this month and I was excited to see my internet friend, Brittany Viklund, sharing a similar post on her substack. How cute is this graphic she made? Also, she is publishing her first book in autumn! I absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on her seasonal guide, The Little Book of Winter.
~ One of my absolute favorite Instagram accounts lately is @ourlittlebrickcottage. These cozy vibes make me so happy.
~ Our family is obsessed with the new Mario Kart World – what an upgrade! Rainbow Road is unreaaaaal. This has been a fun way to connect as a family at the end of the day.
~ I recently grabbed these lounge/pj pants to refresh my wardrobe and they are sooo soft. I can’t wait for cozy season to kick in.
~ I finished Shield of Sparrows, which I had been seeing everywhere and needed to see what the hype was all about. I really enjoyed it and couldn’t put it down. But something towards the end fell a little flat for me… not enough to deter me from reading whatever comes next but I ended up giving it 4 stars. The slow burn romance was well done!
~ I am planning on reading My Oxford Year soon because I recently watched the trailer for the Netflix movie and it seems like it’ll be right up my alley. Have any of you read/watched it yet?
~ We love going to the beach after hours with the kids to avoid the entry fee/parking/crowds. I’m so fortunate to live in a place with the ocean less than an hour away.
~ I purchased myy bulbs for fall planting this week from Brecks. I have beautiful orange, yellow, and white hyacinths coming as well as more daffodils. I love planting them so that we have something to look forward to after the long winter months.
~ If you are an Animal Crossing fan like me, I have been having so much fun in that community. I love sharing my islands and builds on Instagram and recently had a YouTube creator tour my autumn island. This game brings me so much joy.
Thanks for being here, friend. I hope your August is restful and beautiful. x
