Hello friends!
As soon as I hit publish on my ways to romanticize your summer post, I knew I wanted to make a series out of this. I love these reminders for myself as we transition into a new season, so hopefully you appreciate a good seasonal bucket list, too.
If you have been here a while, I am sure you know that autumn is my favorite season, which makes pulling this together even more enjoyable. Maybe you are like me and have your arms wide open for the season, or maybe you are holding tightly to summer and not as excited for the shift. If that is the case, maybe something on here will help you to loosen your grip and let go. So grab a cup of tea or coffee and let’s talk all things cozy and good. Here are 25 items to add to your aesthetic summer bucket list.

1. Start your day with an autumn-themed breakfast. Whether that is cinnamon apple pancakes, pumpkin oatmeal, a warm thick slice of pumpkin bread, crusty toast with apple butter… make it a priority to indulge in the flavors and produce of the season. Bonus that your home will smell heavenly.
2. Drink a warm autumn beverage. Hot drinks can feel so indulgent if you slow down and savor them. I don’t mean grabbing something on the go and mindlessly sipping. I mean really stopping to breathe it in, smell it, feel it’s warmth, savor the flavor. Really enjoy it. Some favorites are mulled cider, spiced chai, pumpkin lattes, or an apple pie latte (this is my favorite ever).
3. Make a watch list for your favorite comfort fall shows/movies. There are a lot of lists going around for this kind of stuff! For me personally, I am a Gilmore Girls on in the background kind of person in the fall. As for movies, New Moon is my favorite autumn comfort movie. I know, I know. But the moody setting and playlist is *chefs kiss.* Another great movie is Coraline (if you have kids: it can be a bit spooky so be your own judge on that). For all ages? It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown is *it!*
4. Make an autumn TBR list. If I had to pick a favorite reading season, fall is it. I recently shared my autumn favorites and TBR here. Get cozy, turn on your favorite lamp, and snuggle in. Bonus if you have a cat purring next to you. <3

5. Visit a pumpkin patch. Walking through a patch on a 55 degree day is like free therapy.
6. Pull out your coziest sweaters or go thrifting for a new one. Knits and cardigans and oversized sweaters… appreciate taking it all out of storage. Go thrifting if you need to spruce up your wardrobe because those stores are loaded with knits for $10 or less.
7.Invest in new slippers or cozy socks. Cozy socks might be my favorite way to ring in the cooler weather. The humble sock… truly bringing all the happiness. It’s the little things.
8.Decorate your doorstep with mums or pumpkins. Natural decor is my favorite kind.
9. Forage for acorns, pinecones, clippings and use them to decorate indoors. Again, think natural when it comes to decorating.
10. Read fall stories to your children. Autumn picture books galore! There are so many titles that we take out from the library over and over. A few favorites: Pumpkin Jack, Yellow Time, Pick a Pumpkin, The Scarecrow. See a full list of our favorites.

11. Add battery-operated tea and fairy lights to shelves/plants/dark corners in your home. This is the first thing I do once the days get shorter. My kids especially love this. It feels like a warm hug once the sun goes down at 4PM.
12. Step outside and pay attention to the sounds and smells. Really let your senses take over. Close your eyes if you have to and simply breathe and listen. I love the earthy smells of fall.
13. Carve pumpkins and roast the seeds. Invite friends and family over to up the hygge ante.
14. Make the creamiest and most delicious butternut squash soup. Serve with crustiest bread. You can’t go wrong with any pot of soup simmering on the stove in autumn.
15. Treat yourself to an autumnal drink at Starbucks. The apple crisp cream chai is sooo good. Non-dairy, too!
16.Find a local farm to go apple picking and bake a pie immediately after. Or a large pot of homemade applesauce. The smells in your kitchen alone is reason enough.

19. Turn on an ambiance YouTube video. A few of my favorites for the season are: autumn rain, pumpkin patch, witch’s kitchen, bubbling cauldron and crackling fire
20. Make a fall playlist. Spotify has so many curated lists to start with. For me, I like to make my own if I find the time. Some artists that I lean towards in the autumn: Lord Huron, Florence + the Machine, Bon Iver, Feist, Death Cab for Cutie, Ben Howard. And of course, the New Moon soundtrack.
21. Find an autumn tea to look forward to. Trader Joe’s usually has a few great seasonal options.
22. Simply open the windows at home and allow the chill to come in. I feel that this always invigorates.
23. Add cinnamon to everything. Oatmeal, apple/pear slices, your simmer pot, your morning coffee,
24. Go outside and step on crunchy leaves. It is a simple thing but delight in it. You will feel like a kid again.
25. Pull out your favorite nail polishes for the season. I have recently invested in a collection of Olive & June nail polishes and not to be dramatic or anything, but they have changed my life. A few colors that I have on standby for fall: AW, World Lit, Cable Knit, Museum Date, Caramel Budino, Geometry, Sage-y.
