You have decided on a cozy cottagecore theme for your Animal Crossing Island. You have the cottagecore name picked out, cottagecore villagers, and the very best cottagecore items gathered. There are no excuses anymore… it’s time to start terraforming, planning out roads, and building. This can often seem like the most daunting part of island design, especially when you have small areas that need to be filled.
Today, I wanted to share number of small build ideas that are perfect for a cozy cottagecore island. I hope that these inspire you and help ease the process and keep it fun.
Are you ready? I know we all feel like this right about now:
Love you Ilya. Okay, here we go.
#1: Large Flower Field
We are going to start with the most obvious and iconic, because I truly feel like my island isn’t complete without a huge wildflower or diagonal flower field. It takes up a decent amount of space (which can be a good thing for some) and looks visually stunning. It definitely gives a wow-factor to your island, especially if you have a lookout area for photos.

#2: Wheat & Windmills
Name a more iconic duo. I’ll wait.
No but seriously, this isn’t another one of those builds that is simple to create and looks stunning. Large-scale builds can add a lot of interest. Yes, I know we said small builds in the title – and you can also make this a smaller field – but large is always lovely.

Another very popular choice for a good reason because a garden shop is such a nice addition to any island, but especially cottagecore islands.

Same idea, but there is something so gorgeous about a pear orchard. This is hands-down my favorite native fruit because the green is so lovely.
Items for Inspiration:

One of the most creative things I’ve seen is using hydrangea shrubs as blueberry bushes for a PYO area. Tooooo cute!!
Items for Inspiration:

Peachy peach is so pretty so why not make a little orchard with all the peach DIYs?

I love doing this towards the back of my island on a rock formation (must be ground level). It’s quiet and peaceful.
Items for Inspiration:

#28: Paint Canvas on the Beach
A really simple idea is to set up a canvas overlooking the ocean. How lovely would it be to sit and paint?
Items for Inspiration:

#29: Quiet Rocking Chair Moment
As simple and effective as it gets. I do this on nearly every island I build and it is usually right at the back of the island.
Items for Inspiration:

#30: Orange Grove
Citrus makes me happy. An orange grove just feels like a joy.
Items for Inspiration:

#31: Pumpkin Patch
The white and green pumpkins are especially aesthetic for this build! If you are in autumn, you can even make a little pumpkin carving station!
Items for Inspiration:

#32: Potato Farm
The potatoes are also pretty aesthetic in this game, right? A potato farm is such a cute and quaint small build, especially outside a villagers’ house.
Items for Inspiration:

#33: Ducks in a Row
