Let’s hear it for the underrated queens of Animal Crossing: New Horizons… sisterly!! Sisterly villagers (or also known as uchi villagers) are one of my personal favorites. I know they are often overlooked because they can be a bit standoffish or blunt, but it’s all an act. They are some of the sweetest in the game once you connect with them and the most rewarding friendship follows. So of course, you will want to get in with their good graces as quickly as possible. Enter gifting.
Sure, you can wrap a hundred iron wall lamps or assessed fossils and gift it everyday if you want it to be effective and fast but this post is for the players who love to gift intentionally…. gifts that fit their personality while still boosting friendship points that leads to that villager photo.
I want to help you with this quick cheat sheet – gifts that meet that threshold but are still sweet and genuine for your villagers. They deserve the very best, naturally!
A few important notes before we get started…
- The item you gift villagers in order to trigger a framed photo has to have a minimum resale value of 750 bells. So to be clear, it’s NOT how much you paid for it – it’s how much Timmy and Tommy will give you when you sell at Nook’s Cranny. If you simply want a gift in return, it is a minimum resale value of 250 bells.
- If you gift clothing, they will wear the clothing. Make sure you choose exactly what you’d want to see them in or else you’ll get Pashmina in a muscle suit. But one thing to know is most clothing isn’t worth 750 bells resale so unless you do it for fun to build their closet, don’t expect the photo.
- Gifting furniture items means they will place in their homes. If you have Happy Home Paradise and have remodeled your villagers’ homes, you don’t need to worry about this. They won’t clutter up your design efforts. So if this bothers you, you may want to stick to wall and ceiling items or fruit/food so that nothing in their home is changed.
- If you want individual gift ideas, see all villager gift guides here. But note, not all gifts here meet the 750 resale price.
- Wrap gifts! You can buy wrapping paper in Nook’s Cranny.
Okay, having said all this, let’s get into it.
How do I choose a gift for my sisterly villager?
When it comes to sisterly villagers, I like to focus on a few of their main interests. If you didn’t know, sisterly villagers LOVE flowers. Pashmina and Deirdre are constantly chatting my ear off about tending to their flowers and their symbolism. We’ll want to make sure there are plenty of flowery gifts. I also just like to think “what would you gift your older sister?” And finally, I like to hone in on their main hobbies. For instance, Pashmina has the music hobby while Hazel has the play hobby. Phoebe has the fitness hobby while Quinn has the education hobby. None of them have the fashion or nature hobby (very surprising given how much they love flowers). To find out which hobby your villager has, a quick Google search will do the trick.
