What I’m Loving Lately vol. 1

Loving Lately vol 1

Hi friends! Remember this series from oh so long ago? (If you have been around for a while, thank you so much for sticking with me through all of it. 🫶) I’d like to bring this series back because 1) it is fun to pull together and 2) it feels nice to share relaxed/conversational content on here. I think that is what the blog has been missing these days. I’ve been sharing in this space for about a decade now and find myself missing some of the earlier formats of blogging, which really just started like a journal/diary that felt personal. I hope that I can continue to bring that sort of vibe. I’d love to hear if this is something you’d love to see more of, too. So please let me know in the comment or shoot me a message on Insta. If you like this kind of post in particular, I will make an effort to compile all the things every month.

So yes! What I’ve been loving lately! So many things are bringing joy and delight this season. With the weather finally warming up in New England, we have been getting outside more and our favorite dishes have shifted into summer mode. So let’s start there.

– We’re bringing back the lunch platter because it is fast and easy for me and my kids love seeing what options I pull together. Here’s my master list of all the components I try to include: sandwich, veggie, fruit, dip, protein, healthy fat, and fun snack.

– We’re swapping warm oats for overnight oats more often lately

– Homemade banana nice cream and granola bowls and blueberry/acai bowls are always a favorite. One of my very favorite combinations for summer is warm oats and banana nice cream.

– And while we are on the topics of summer breakfasts, this tofu herb cream cheese is one of my very favorites. I appreciate the bump in protein first thing in the morning.

– After reading a lot of fantasy over the winter, I am opting for more quick and satisfying romances. Emily Henry, Christina Lauren, and Carley Fortune are just a few of my favorite auto-read authors and their new releases did NOT disappoint (Funny Story, The Paradise Problem, This Summer Will Be Different). Five stars for all three! The wit and banter in their stories are unmatched. I also highly enjoyed Expiration Dates by Rebecca Serle. It was a very quick read that I inhaled in about 24 hours. Next, I am looking forward to Ali Hazelwood’s Not In Love this month!

– Show of hands please for all those who are also enamored by all things Bridgerton? Haha! It was torturous waiting for this season but it was worth the wait. I also watched Queen Charlotte and all I have to say is WOW and I LOVE & I HURT.

– My peonies are in bloom and that is a small joy but deserves to be said.

– The Brave Writer podcast with Julie Bogart and Melissa Wiley is my favorite to listen to while I make dinner or clean. They are nailing all the topics each week and give me a much-needed boost in mindset as I begin to plan out our next homeschool year.

– Speaking of planning out homeschool, I grabbed this planner (affiliate link) and have loved using it so far. Give me all the highlighters, washi tape, and colorful pens.

– I’ve started doing more pilates at home. I have not made movement a priority in my life for a while now and am focused on changing that. I love MonikaFit on YouTube.

– Our local library has a museum pass program that we plan to take advantage of this summer. We already visited our natural history museum and planetarium and plan to also go to the aquarium, whale museum, children’s museum, and museum of fine arts. Nothing but love always for libraries!!

– Grocery pick up has been a lifesaver (and money saver) for me these days. It really does keep us in check because I am better able to manage the overall cost and it allows us more time on the weekends to play instead of run errands.

– Did you know Lindt makes oat milk Lindor truffles now? No? Now you do and you need them.

– I finally got on the wide-leg jean train and they are fantastic.

Romanticizing everything this season

So that’s a wrap for now! What do you think? Do you like this kind of thing? Do you have any questions you’d like me to answer or anything you’d like to hear more about? Let me know, friends. I am looking forward to connecting. x
