Life After Moving

Life After Moving

Hi friends!

I thought I’d pop in between the recipes and motherhood posts and say that we’re doing great after the move. Things are finally feeling “normal” again.

Moving week was an absolute whirlwind… Willow stayed with my mom during the day so we could get everything done quickly (and I missed her like crazy). We spent a couple nights at my parents. My cat, Minnie, was absolutely terrified of the new space (she got stuck behind a wall… don’t even ask!!) There were tears and a lot of anxiety on my end, but we did it. And we all LOVE our new home (Minnie included… THANK GOD!)

The neighborhood is absolutely beautiful and family-friendly. One neighbor came by with a floral arrangement to welcome us, which was very sweet. And the funniest thing – I found out one FF reader is my neighbor. Absolute craziness. What a small world, right? That alone made me feel so excited to be here.

I’ve been working on putting together a space that is comfortable and refreshing. I know this will take time, but we are definitely moving right along (I’ll share some pics below). And with the holidays around the corner, I am in festive spirits. I totally started taking out the Christmas decor because why put it away just to take it out again? That or the fact that it is November… I’ve always started celebrating as early as I can. And this year will be extra special because Willow is actually aware of what is going on and so excited. Each trip we’ve taken to Home Depot during moving has been an opportunity to walk her through the Christmas tree aisle. Her eyes light up and it makes me want to cry. Holidays are a million times more magical as a mama.

But overall, I am very happy with our decision to stay in state. It feels very right being here. The moment autumn swept in, I knew that we made the right choice. There is nothing like fall in New England. It’s my favorite time of year and I can’t imagine it being full of palm trees vs. foliage. Who knows, maybe someday we will get the Florida itch again, but for now, we’re here and we’re happy.

I promise I’ll get more pics as our space evolves over time, but here are just a few.

Thanks for caring and being here, friends. I try to do these posts every once in a while for anyone who is interested… let me know if you like them. I can try to do more. I love recipes, tips, and motherhood… but being candid is something I am definitely working on currently and if enough of you are into it, I’ll make a more conscious effort to write these update/journal-type posts.

I hope you all have a beautiful morning/day. Love you guys. xx bianca
