Anyone else have a whole lot of trouble choosing normal villagers for their island? They are arguably the cutest in design. With their gentle demeanor and love of all things home, books, and nature, it is hard not to love them.
Some people believe that normal dialogue can get a bit boring. I have found that having more than 3 on my island at a time becomes quite repetitive so I do my best to add diversity. One thing that helps is making sure I have both subtypes. Subtype A will talk more about nature/cleaning/crafting while Subtype B will talk more about reading and learning. Today, let’s look at 20 of the very best. These are my personal favorites, so I apologize if you don’t see your favorites on here… but there are so so many more! They are all so precious! If I had the time and energy to write each and every one of them a glowing review, I would. Hehe
20. Marina
Everyone’s favorite pink octopus! Marina is an actual doll. Her design is unique and I think that is what makes her highly sought after. Her favorite colors are pink and red and she has the music hobby, which means she will sing her heart out whenever she pleases. It’s adorable. She’s adorable.

The bird villagers are so cute and Midge is one of the best. Her pink and white coloring is super bright and fun, without being too crazy. Her favorite color is pink, naturally, and her hobby is education so she always has her head stuck in a book. Love her.

Eunice is the embodiment of grandmacore. She is unassuming and honestly an underrated villager. Her favorite colors are beige and orange and her hobby is fashion. Gift her all the cozy sweaters and give her a spinning wheel for her home. The ultimate cozy villager.

You either love her or hate her but Coco is seriously one of the coolest designs. There’s something unsettling about her hollow features but also so freaking cute. Honestly. She is such a mood. Her favorite colors are beige and green and her hobby is nature. She is a cottagecore queen!

16. Nan
Nan is so cool – who doesn’t love a black goat? Her favorite colors are yellow and orange and her hobby is nature. She deserves to have her own little garden to tend to and would fit perfectly on spring and farmcore islands.

15. Mitzi
Miss Mitzi is a veteran and deserves all the love. Her design is that of a Siamese cat and her coloring is so pretty. Her favorite colors are brown and beige and her hobby is education. She can be found observing items with a magnifying glass or reading with her own pair of glasses. It’s precious and she’s one of the best cat villagers to date.

14. Ellie
Aw, Ellie! Her coloring. Her eyes. Her side smile. Her little bangs. Ellie is just the whole package and she is a darling choice. Her favorite colors are pink and gray and her hobby is nature. When gifting her, be sure to give her a wide-brim straw hat because she rocks it like nobody’s business. She calls you “li’l one” and damn, if that isn’t the cutest.

13. Lily
Is she the sweetest frog in the game? Quite possibly, yes! Her eyes sparkle and her coloring is perfection and she loves to read, so she is the whole package. Lily’s favorite colors are pink and yellow and her hobby is education.

Poppy looks like something out of a fairytale, making her a fan favorite. She’s cute as a button, with a gorgeous deep cranberry coloring. Her favorite colors are yellow and red and her hobby is education – we love a voracious reader! She is perfect for forestcore, autumncore, and fairytale islands.

Stella is such a cozy and warm villager. Her closed eyes make her look very endearing and gentle and we love that for her. Her favorite colors are yellow and beige and her hobby is nature, which suits her. It’s always sweet to see her watering the flowers. She’s perfect for cottage and springcore.

10. Lolly
The best thing about Lolly might be that her eyes look like quotations. No? Just me? But her design is simple and stunning and love her tabby vibe. Her favorite colors are gray and pink and she has the music hobby, which means she can break into a song at just about any time and her voice is so sweet. She would look precious on any and all islands, but in particular, shes gives *magical winter vibes.*

The koala villagers are so cute and Melba is possibly at the very tip top. Her soft natural coloring with the pink accents makes her so stunning. Her favorite colors are green and white and she has the education hobby. Her catchphrase is “toasty” and you know that alone is so precious.

8. Goldie
The golden girl herself could be the very face of Animal Crossing. Goldie is your favorite golden retriever and will be your very best friend. Her favorite colors are yellow and orange and she has the nature hobby. She is so lovely on cottage, spring, or summer island themes.

7. Chevre
Chevre was one of my first villagers ever and she holds a special place in my heart. She is a white goat and her eyes and shy vibe makes her a sweetie. Her catchphrase “la baa” is just darling. Her favorite colors are pink and red and her hobby is education. You’ll love seeing her with her glasses and book in hand.

6. Kiki
Black cats for the win. Kiki may look spooky but she is far from it. Her gentle nature makes her so appealing. With an education hobby, she constantly has her glasses on and her nose in a book. One of the best bookish villagers, IMHO. Her favorite colors are brown and beige and her simple style makes her such a cozy and homey villager. Can’t get enough of her.

5. Maple
Maple is arguably one of the most popular villagers in the game and for good reason because she is an irresistibly adorable bear cub. Her natural coloring and rosy cheeks make her very visually appealing. Her favorite colors are green and white and her hobby is education, which means she can be seen reading around the island in her glasses… which is simply the best.

4. Olive
Yes, I am ranking Olive above Maple because while Maple may be the fan favorite of the cubs, Olive is severely overshadowed and underrated. She is such a pretty gray color and her eyes are so wide, it is equal parts alarming and endearing. Her favorite colors are yellow and brown and her hobby is nature. When she stops to smell the flowers, it is simply the sweetest.
Olive’s catchphrase is “sweet pea” which, that alone, is why she is one of the very cutest. She has such a warm and cozy presence!

3. Bea
Sweet Bea is the best pup of all. Her warm brown coloring is simple yet perfection. Those with a chocolate lab in their life will gravitate towards her. Her sleepy eyes are also a big draw, as they are so endearing. Her favorite colors are blue and green and she has the nature hobby, like most subtype A villagers. If her freckles don’t win you over, I’ll be very surprised. Her shy demeanor makes her even more lovable.

Fauna is so aesthetically pleasing to the eye. She is perfection with her doe eyes and beautiful, warm coloring. Her favorite colors are white and beige and her hobby is nature. She is often watering flowers around the island, which is too precious. She is great for cottage or forestcore islands.

1. Molly
The cutest duck in all the Animal Crossing lands. Molly is a fan favorite and classic because just look at her. She is precious. Some players, myself included, like natural-colored villagers and she fits the bill in that regard. Her favorite colors are yellow and pink. Her hobby is nature, but she often discusses books. There is absolutely nothing this duck can do wrong. Oh, and her catchphrase is “quackidee.” Case closed. Protect her forever.
