October Traditions: Books & Jammies

Hi! October is around the corner and my heart is siiiiinging. It has been my favorite month for as long as I can remember (and I am not even big on Halloween). I mostly just love the weather, colors, smells, foods, attire, pumpkins… and sure, the candy. Plus, our wedding anniversary is this month. :)

But needless to say, I want to celebrate the start of it with something simple but exciting for the girls.

I am in that phase of motherhood where I am starting to try new traditions to see if they stick or how they go over. Building traditions is something that I’ll be focused on while the girls begin to understand holidays… there are plenty from my own childhood that still make me happy and I will carry on to my daughters. This one is new but it features two of the very best things… I mean, who doesn’t want a new book and comfy pajamas to kick off the season?

Books

For books this year, we have Bonaparte Falls Apart, Cats Night Out, and Pick a Pumpkin. Some other great ones to consider:

Jammies

Our favorite Halloween-themed pajamas usually come from Old Navy, Burt’s Bees Baby, Carters, and H&M. This year I grabbed this one for Willow and Fiona got a hand-me-down pair. Here are some cute ones this year:

You can also find great season pajamas at your local TJ Maxx or Marshalls… or thrifted! I did some work at Once Upon a Child in their seasonal section. Ha! Sooo many cute Halloween-themed clothing and pajamas for like $2-3 each!

I am so excited for my girls to open these in a week. I think it’ll kick off the best month of the year in the best way. ;)

Let me know if you decide or plan to do the same! x

  1. How cute – I love picking up seasonal books at our library. It’s so fun to get into all the Fall things. We had temps in the 70s here in Florida and I was so happy! I wish our trees changed colors, but they don’t call it the Sunshine State for nothing.

    1. I love the idea of grabbing some at the library. I have to do that! And yay for lower temps! We were in the low 60s last week and it made my heart sing. Lol! x

  2. Hi! I love, love, love this idea! It’s so creative. Do you know where you got the orange poofs that are on top of the presents?! I love them but am not sure where I’d find them. Yay for traditions with our babies!
