Registering for Baby #2

Second Baby Registry Essentials List

Hi friends!

Today I wanted to talk about registering for baby #2. Should you or shouldn’t you? I definitely google’d this myself and debated whether or not to. I thought I’d let you in on what I decided, why, and what I will have on my small but thoughtful registry.

Should you register?

It seems weird to do that when you already have items, right? Especially if the baby is going to be the same sex. BUT. I have had friends and family (very thoughtfully) asking what we need for baby #2. Instead of gifts that you may not really need or have use for, it just seemed better to give them a bit of direction. Our second registry is much much smaller since we are having another girl, but a whole lot more thoughtful. So if anyone does want to gift us something, they have a starting place and will know that their gift will get major use. I am trying my best to keep items to a minimum in our house and I feel like items with purpose are more conscious than something we won’t necessarily need this time around (or may already have from Willow!)

Does that make sense? I hope so. This is just personally what I thought would be easiest and best for our family.

To be honest, there are not too many big ticket items. Things like bassinet, carrier, swing, bouncer, crib, mattress, etc. We have all this from Willow. I’ll be checking to make sure the car seat is still good to use with the manufacturer, but other than that, we don’t need anything crazy! But there are just some things that are on my “wish list” this time around. And to be honest, just some things that I think our little sunshine should have as their own (read: pacifiers!)

So, all that being said. Here are some of the things we have on our second baby registry. Maybe you will agree or maybe you won’t, but this is what feels right for our family. I hope that it helps if you are also struggling with this decision!

Items We’re Registering For

Bottles. With Willow, I had 3 different types of bottles (I exclusively pumped after 2 months of breastfeeding). I found that I much preferred the Avent bottles and they worked seamlessly with our pump. I am going to grab another set of 2 aside from the ones we have (we have about 4). All in the larger size because to be honest, the small size is pointless. Might as well always have room to grow! For the other 4 we have, I added new nipples to the registry.

Swaddle blankets. We have a couple from Willow, but I’ll be honest. She still uses hers and sleeps with them! She carries around her “bankies” and I don’t want to take them from her. So I’ll be registering for a set of 2 that baby girl can have as her own.

Pacifiers. Willow loved her pacifiers (her wubbanubs, specifically). I’ll grab two new ones for this baby. I love this deer and this duck (sooo sweet!) Spoiler alert: I bought the duck myself. Also – anyone use these? They look so cute, but a little pricey. Not sure about them yet.

Second baby monitor. This is just an extra camera that can be added to our already in-use baby monitor so I can keep tabs on both rooms (they won’t be sharing at first but will down the line).

Baby lounger/co-sleeper. I can’t see myself asking for a very expensive Dock-A-Tot, but something similar. I found that I really wanted one once Willow started co-sleeping with us. We were gifted the Halo side-sleeper so we used that, but this time around I want to use something for our bed and/or to bring around the house to place baby down safely (no more rock ‘n play for us!) I am going to have my hands full with Willow, no doubt, so this is a great option. I found the SnuggleMe and like the look of it, but do you guys have any suggestions for something similar aside from the Dock-A-Tot? This is another item that is a bit big-ticket, but trying to go about it as frugally as possible!

Burp cloths. We have these already, but man are they worn down and not as soft as before. I’d like a new pack because they are inexpensive and used around the clock.

Forever carseat. I don’t know why we didn’t do this with Willow, but it just makes sense to get a carseat that will grow with the kiddo forever. This is the most expensive item on our registry, for sure.

White noise machine. This is something I am not sure if we will need yet or not, but I am leaning towards the yes side because Willow still uses hers. We have used it since the day she came home. So we definitely get our monies worth! Willow has the same brand but an elephant, so I went for the owl this time.

Crib sheet. We have two we use for Willow now, but I might grab one new one so it’s fresh and soft with the other two as back-up.

Stand and Ride Stroller. Okay, is this worth it? Willow will probably walk most times, but I think the option to stand or sit would be nice for her. Sound off if we should register for this or not.

Not too crazy, right? A lot of this stuff is fairly simple but just some upgrades and a few things that are her own. I also have a few things like diaper rash cream, wipes, diapers, etc. that people can gift if they’d like. Practical things!

Let me know what you guys think, too. I’d love to hear from any mamas with experience from 1 babe to 2. I am so nervous and excited. I could use any and all tips.

Comment below or message me on IG. I’d love to hear from you!! Thanks, guys. xx bianca
