Chocolate for Breakfast: 5 Healthy + Vegan Recipes

Chocolate for breakfast is my favorite. Because honestly, nothing is more rich and delicious than kicking off the morning with something chocolate. It helps to curb my sweet tooth for the day, and makes me happy – plain and simple!

If you are a chocolate lover like me, then I strongly urge you to try incorporating some of these recipes into your morning routine. Bonus points, because they are also healthy.

I can’t wait for Willow to be old enough to enjoy these with me too. Chocolate for breakfast… I mean….

#1: Chocolate Almond Oats

What I've Been Eating Lately (Vegan, Oil + Sugar-Free)

These are so fast and simple to make. Prepare your favorite oatmeal according to package. Mix in unsweetened cocoa or cacao powder. Top with almond butter, coconut flakes, cacao nibs (if you have them), and banana.

#2: Dark Chocolate Toast

What I've Been Eating Lately (Vegan, Oil + Sugar-Free)

This is so rich and filling! This dark chocolate spread is simply unsweetened dark cocoa powder and almond butter mixed together (you could use any nut butter you like). Top your favorite brand of toast.

#3: Mint Chip Smoothie

Dessert for breakfast, basically… but still healthy. You can find the recipe for this smoothie HERE.

#4: Chocolate Oats + Yogurt Parfait

It’s just these chocolate overnight oats layered with vanilla soy yogurt (or whatever your favorite brand is), peanut butter, and granola.

#5: Milkshake with Chocolate Syrup

The smoothie base is unsweetened cocoa powder, frozen banana + strawberry. For chocolate syrup, stir together 2 tbs maple syrup 2 tbs of unsweetened cocoa or cacao powder. Add water if you’d like a runnier consistency.
