Willow’s $10 Valentine’s Day Basket

$10 Valentine's Day Basket: Ideas for Toddlers

Hi friends :)

I’m going to be honest – I was never a crazy Valentine’s Day person. It’s a cute holiday, but it has always been low-key for us. And to be honest, it probably will always be that way. But ever since having Willow, I have been much more into holidays – even little ones like this.

I just can’t help myself when I browse Target and the Dollar Tree and see all the little things that I know Willow would be excited by. I am sure it will only get worse as she gets older and more into holidays herself. But I also don’t want to end up spending a ton, either. So I gave myself a $10 limit to spoil her a bit. Everything in her basket was from either the Dollar Tree or Target Dollar Spot.

When buying the items for it, I also grabbed things I really think she will enjoy and play with. I didn’t wanna just gets stuff for the sake of getting it. All carefully chosen and no candy. Maybe you want to do a little something for your kiddos (or future kiddos), and I hope that this helps show you that it doesn’t have to be grand and elaborate. A $10 basket can be just as exciting and sweet.

So here’s a look at what’s in her basket!

  • Heart-shaped basket – $1
  • PJ Masks Magic Ink coloring book – $3 – She loves the theme song to this show so much. Plus, Owlette is a badass.
  • Felt heart stickers – $1 – Really into stickers these days!
  • Play-Doh – $0.69 – Her first play-doh… I can’t wait to see how she reacts to it. Only under supervision, of course.
  • Pink cat ears – $1 – She loves wearing these types of headbands these days and she looooves cats.
  • Unicorn + rainbow socks – $1 – Because she will use them for sure.
  • Disney Princess bath book – $1 – Bath time is her favorite lately, and she loves her books. Seems like a good way to combine the two.
  • Sesame Street flash cards – $1 – She loves her other set of flash cards, so I can’t imagine when she sees the Sesame Street characters. I am most excited about these.

TOTAL: $9.69

Not too bad, right? I feel confident that she will really enjoy and use everything, even the heart-shaped basket. She has been very much into putting whatever little toys and stuffed animals she already has into baskets and bins. So that is also a win.

$10 Valentine's Day Basket: Ideas for Toddlers

Aside from what we have in Willow’s basket, there were lots of other cute ideas. Just a few for thought:

  • Freeze-dried strawberries
  • Coloring books
  • Crayons
  • Character band-aids
  • Sippy cup
  • Hair bows and accessories
  • Toy cars
  • Valentine’s Day book, or book about love
  • Stuffed animal
  • Plate + Cutlery
  • Heart stampers

Now Easter… that is gonna be a whole other situation. I have already grabbed a couple things (ahhh!) But I have always enjoyed Easter and can’t wait to celebrate that with her this year. I’ll be sharing that basket in the future as I finish it. I am trying to do the same where I avoid candy and grab things that she will find fun but also items that I will be getting her regardless of Easter or not. So at least I know it will be money well spent. I can’t wait.

How do you celebrate holidays with your kiddos? Would love to hear.

Thanks for reading and hope that you guys all have a great Valentine’s Day, too. xx bianca
