An Update on Life

Our Family Vacation in Kennebunkport, ME

Hey friends –

I haven’t done a life update post in a loooong time. I am not even sure if you guys are into posts like this (anyone?) But, I wanted to share a few life updates on here. A lot of things going on behind all the recipes, motherhood posts, and summer fun. You probably are more in the know if you follow me on IG (I tend to share more personal bits and pieces there).

1. I guess I’ll start with the big one – moving. We’ve been looking to move to South Florida since January. We were both very much hyped on it because there are a lot of reasons that make sense for us to go. However, after months and months of going back and forth, research on areas, etc… we have decided to postpone the move. I won’t get into all of the reasons here, but we truthfully just felt like it may be too big of a life event at this time. I suffer from some anxiety (it got worse after I had Willow) and I am afraid to trigger more anxiety in my life. The unknown scares the crap out of me. As excitingx as a move like that would be, I am not sure I am ready for it (yet).

So… we are going to start small. We WILL be moving and are still in the market for a new house, just in our area We’ve outgrown our little starter home. I knew that we’d never be in the house forever when I bought it. It’s just time for a new change of scenery. Once we find our new home, we’ll see how we feel and re-evaluate our desire to move to Florida. I won’t lie – I am really sad about it. I am sad because I had a lot of dreams living in a sunnier place with copious amounts of tropical fruit, Disney within reach, and warm weather. But Florida will always be there, and just because we aren’t moving now, doesn’t mean it will never happen. The right time will present itself. At least I still have autumn here. (That was one thing I was truly going to miss!)

I am looking forward to finding our new home, regardless of staying in state. I love house hunting and dreaming of new spaces to fill up with style and love. I’ll definitely keep you guys in the loop as we really start to look. Please send us all the good vibes.

2. Now that Willow is older and I have more energy and time, I am really ramping up my efforts to find freelance clients. Aside from this blog, I make an income from freelance writing. Copywriting, marketing, blogging, etc. That is what my background is in, and I love it. It’s just hard to find freelance, sometimes! And the worst part is the ebb and flow of work. Some months are very busy while others are slower. This summer in particular has been pretty slow. Putting this out there because if anyone knows anyone looking for a part-time/freelance writer (whether that is writing blog posts/articles, managing Pinterest, etc.) please let me know. I’m putting all the feelers out there!

3. Willow’s first birthday is coming up (September!) I can’t even put into words how crazy that feels to me, but I thought it was worth mentioning. HOW.

I guess that is about it for updates for now. I’m trying not to get too anxious about everything… I know that all good things will happen in time. It’s easy for me to get ahead of myself and stress over (literally) nothing. But I think we’re taking a step in the right direction.

Thanks for listening and being here. I appreciate all of you. xo
