Some meat-eaters can be skeptic to eating more plant-based and vegan because they feel they are missing out on some of their favorite dishes. I can honestly say that everything I thought I would be missing out on, I found a new way to enjoy it. Substitutes are what they are – a substitute. No, they will never taste identical to what you may be used to, but I promise, they get the job done.
In most cases (for me anyway), the meals I enjoyed as a meat-eater came down to the flavors more than anything else. So with a meatless substitute and the right flavor notes, I always feel more than satisfied. Believe me when I say that anything can be made vegan.
If you are looking to eat more plant-based but have trouble giving up meat, I highly suggest trying some of the recipes below. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed! Lots of family-friendly dinners, too.
#1: Jackfruit Enchiladas
#2: Tempeh Marsala
#3: NY System Weiners
#4: Tempeh Burger Pizza
#5: Pulled “Pork” Jackfruit
#6: Smokey Tempeh Chili
#7: Buffalo Chik’n Wrap
No recipe link here, but so easy. I used Gardein chik’n strips – baked according to package and then dipped in Frank;s Buffalo Hot Sauce. Wrapped this up with some vegan mayo, lettuce, and tomato. So easy!
