#WCW: 15 Incredible Lady Vegans and Vegetarians

Welcome to Women Crush Wednesday – vegan and vegetarian edition. It always makes me so happy to hear when I celebrity joins the meatless movement, because they ultimately have a lot of influence on youths. Also, I can’t say youths without thinking of Schmidt from New Girl.

Youths New Girl

Anyways!

I’ve done this before in the past, but I think it’s time for a refresher. I love celebrating kind and compassionate women – it’s just a bonus that they are also plant-eaters. Enjoy. xo

#1: Jessica Chastain

“I don’t want to torture anything. … it’s about trying to live a life where I’m not contributing to the cruelty in the world. … While I am on this planet, I want everyone I meet to know that I am grateful they are here.”

#2: Emily Deschanel

“I’ve been vegan for 15 years, and it turns out it makes a very big impact on the environment to eat fewer animal products, which cause more greenhouse gases than all of transportation combined. The United Nations did a study just over two years ago, and that blew my mind. I started thinking that if people are vegetarian for just one day a week, that makes a huge difference!”

#3: Erykah Badu

15 Incredible Lady Vegans and Vegetarians

“Vegan food is soul food in its truest form. Soul food means to feed the soul. And, to me, your soul is your intent. If your intent is pure, you are pure.”

#4: Olivia Wilde

“I am really honored and very inspired to continue living the vegan lifestyle that has been so good to my body, my animal friends, and the world we live in.”

#5: Miley Cyrus

15 Incredible Lady Vegans and Vegetarians

“Be the voice of those who can’t say …..’stop.’ Who can’t say ‘that hurts.’ Who can’t say ‘I’m so afraid to die.’ Be the voice of the animals!”

#6: Maggie Q

“Once you’ve done the research you can’t unlearn what you know.”

#7: Evanna Lynch

15 Incredible Lady Vegans and Vegetarians

“I’ve always abhorred violence and am highly sensitised to it. I do not think it benefits society or indeed any individual to become tolerant of violence… I feel if I can accept the abuse of these innocent, sentient creatures and my role in it then I could easily become apathetic about…well, everything, and that is a scary thought.”

#8: Mya

15 Incredible Lady Vegans and Vegetarians

“Everything that you already are used to and love, there is a vegan version. Or you can veganize your meals, it’s a beautiful thing.”

#9: Alicia Silverstone

15 Incredible Lady Vegans and Vegetarians

“I don’t have any understanding of a human being who doesn’t respect the beauty of life and that goes for all creatures that have thoughts, feelings, and needs.”

#10: Ellen Page

15 Incredible Lady Vegans and Vegetarians

“Why are vegans made fun of while the inhumane factory farming process regards animals and the natural world merely as commodities to be exploited for profit?”

#11: Jenna Dewan-Tatum

15 Incredible Lady Vegans and Vegetarians

“I remember very clearly the day my mom made chicken fingers. I was like, ‘Wait, this was alive? This had parents? I’m not eating it anymore.’”

#12: Ruby Rose

“Trump changes to Climate change today have you feeling ill?? May I suggest turning vegan or at least vegetarian? We can be the change.”

#13: Ariana Grande

#WCW: 15 Incredible Lady Vegans and Vegetarians

“I love animals more than I love most people. Not kidding.”

#14: Kat Von D

#WCW: 15 Incredible Lady Vegans and Vegetarians

“Veganism changed me. It taught me to look past myself. To consider how my choices effect others. The animals, the people around me, and the planet we live on.”

#15: Natalie Portman

#WCW: 15 Incredible Lady Vegans and Vegetarians

“Everyone has to find what is right for them, and it is different for everyone. Eating for me is how you proclaim your beliefs three times a day. That is why all religions have rules about eating. Three times a day, I remind myself that I value life and do not want to cause pain to or kill other living beings. That is why I eat the way I do.”
