I’ve mentioned it on here more than once, but I am obsessed with my non-diaper bag. To be honest, I did choose a diaper bag out and was gifted it at my shower. It was so much bulkier than the photos and it was simply… not me. When you become a mom, you do lose some pieces of your previous self (it’s not a bad thing, but it was a little sad for me at first). Life is so much more beautiful with your baby, but why sacrifice your personal sense of style? If there was one thing I wanted to savor, it was my style choices. I just could not see myself carrying around that lug of a diaper bag. Of course, a lot of women love their diaper bags! Which is awesome, because whatever works best for you, that is what you should always do. But the ones marketed as diaper bags were just not for me.
I quickly exchanged the bag in for something that was actually cheaper, chicer, and vegan-friendly. I can’t even tell you how much I love it. It goes well with everything, isn’t too big, and easily holds all of my own things, as well as Willow’s.
I’m a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl. Chic casual comfort is my thing. Give me a pair of vans sneakers and some black sunnies, and I’m good to go. So you can imagine how excited I was to team up with the Dharma Store. They have some of the coolest vegan graphic tees on the market. Super soft, vibrant, and the best part… cruelty-free!
The Dharma Store is a vegan clothing brand created to spread awareness through fashion. They are 100% cruelty-free, using water-based and eco-friendly inks on all of their unique t-shirt designs. Offering designs for both men and women, it’s so hard to pick a favorite. There are so many designs to choose from, including vegan statement shirts, veggie and fruit graphics, sacred geometry designs, and even yoga designs. Another thing I love about this company is that they shipped my shirts in recyclable material.
Hi friends! How are you guys? I’ve been good over here – very busy to say the least… between baby prep and just general summer events and whatnot. Every weekend has been packed, but good. Staying busy makes the time go by much faster as we burst with excitement to meet our sweet girl!
I’ve also been so fortunate lately to have amazing vegan brands collaborating with me and sharing their products. When OluKai footwear reached out, I couldn’t have been more thrilled. A vegan shoe brand that carries slip-ons – yes!! If you guys know me, you know that I basically live in slip-ons or my Vans sneakers. I’m all about casual comfort. I was really excited to grab a pair of these and start wearing them out this summer.
Hi guys :)
I love writing posts about my fashion finds on here! This is one that I was particularly over the moon about. As usual, all my luck with vegan finds are in Marshalls/TJ Maxx/Target. This vegan leather jacket caught my eye in TJ Maxx immediately (before I even saw the clearly marked tag). Once I did, you can only imagine my face. It went straight into the cart.
Because I mean… it was $30.
HI! This post is probably going to be long and consist of tons of yelling and excessive [!!!] because it’s all about our dreamy honeymoon in DISNEY! Disney, yes. I think I’ve said it before on here… but yes we are going to Disney because we are literally 2 big kids. It doesn’t matter if we go every year… there is just no place we’d rather be or celebrate the start of our marriage than the most magical place on Earth. Rollercoasters, delicious vegan food, fireworks, shows, shopping, pool, ahhhh. It’s everything. We’re also doing Universal for 2 days, AKA THE WIZARDING WORLD OF HARRY POTTER! Eeeeeee! I haven’t been to Universal in at least a decade, so you can imagine my excitement.
I thought it would be fun to share some of our plans (I am quite a planner – down to pool time) and some of what I’m packing. Just a little peak into my travel bag and life ;)
Warning: really long post ahead.
Hi friends! I’m excited to share another vegan find with you all – I grabbed it about a month ago, but have finally got around to writing this. Well, to be honest… I am writing this a week in advance to make sure I am covered before the big wedding weekend (by now, I’ll be married… EEK!)
I love this bag sooo much, and it is the same brand as the summer bag I posted about a couple months back. Safe to say, I love the brand EMPERIA. It’s durable, soft, and this color in particular really stole my heart the minute I saw it. I think they call it “camel?” I like to call it caramel – this caramel color is my all-time favorite. It’s warm for autumn, and it goes well with everything. Guess how much it costs?
Hi, kind friends :)
Over the last few years, I have replaced my entire beauty drawer with cruelty-free products. It’s a much kinder way to shop. We’ve explained what cruelty-free means in the past, but just to refresh: cruelty-free means that the product has not been tested on animals. Animal-testing is an eye-opening industry, and I encourage you to take a second and educate yourself on these inhumane practices. You won’t like what you find, but that is why you need to look.
So, without getting too into the ethics of it, I wanted to share my morning beauty routine with you guys. A lot of you wonder if it is expensive to shop cruelty-free, and that answer is absolutely not. I buy most of these products at Target, to be honest. Even the more expensive products are of great quality and last almost up to a year. I promise, it is very affordable.
I am super excited to write this post, because you can imagine how excited I was to spot a clearly-marked vegan handbag at Marshalls. I actually could not believe it. A discount store such as Marshalls carrying a vegan handbag is a huge feat, in my opinion. It just goes to show that the market demands more options, and the more people demand, the more people will become aware. It’s a beautiful thing (much like this bag).
Hi guys. Lately, I’ve been feeling like I should write a detailed post about why I chose a vegan diet. I get this question a lot, especially when someone finds out for the first time. I’ll be honest – it never feels great when someone asks “why?” in a weird, defensive tone. Sometimes, I’ll laugh it off and try to get off the subject quickly. If you catch me on an off day, I might be a little more blunt about it, or sound defensive myself. But I get it – people just want to know why I would stop eating certain products, and they may assume I am depriving myself (not at all, by the way).
I’d like to share my story here and hope that anyone reading this sees my choice in new light, and understands where I am coming from. People eat vegan for a variety of different reasons, but this is mine.
Read at your own discretion – I talk about this pretty candidly.
When it comes to style posts, I usually say, “I’ll pass.” Who cares if I can get a celebrity lookalike dress for the bargain price of $326, when the actress paid 20x that? If you’re like me, that figure is more in the “monthly grocery” and less in the “weekly fashion allowance” budget. Ain’t no shame in that, sister!
But today I’m talking about using what you’ve already got to create some classic, vintage looks. I drew inspiration from some pretty timeless ladies who you might think of as fancy with a capital F (that). They sure could be, but when they channeled their casual sides, their looks were pretty freaking simple. Here, I’ll show you… Continue reading
